SWA # 11
The most credible articles were “What Did Not Work: Effort to Centralize Homeless Services” and “Opposition to Shelter Rises”. These articles seem to be more credible because they use quotes and facts to back up their claims. They also include or are someone with a title that gives them credibility. The less credible articles were “Four Corners Best Answer on Homeless” and “Homeless Situation Has no Easy Answers”. These seemed less credible because they were shorter and either just gave their opinion without any facts to back it up or were just summarizing what had happened. An easy way to find credibility besides where the article was published is how they author portrays their opinion with using facts and other sources to back up their claims. Less credible sources can still be used in research papers because they can still make really good points. A writer must be skeptical of the article and be careful how they use the facts in their paper.
